About the school
The American International School was established in 1998 through collaboration between the Omani Ministry of Education and the United States Embassy. It is a non-profit American international school that provides American curriculum education from early childhood through grade 12, with full accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and membership in the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
The school is located in the Ghala area of Muscat, on land donated by Sultan Qaboos, and serves more than 720 students representing approximately 62 nationalities. It is also the only school in Oman fully accredited with the American curriculum, and an active member of the regional SAISA association, providing opportunities for students to participate in cultural and sports activities within a network of international schools in the region.
