Al Salam Private School is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded by Mrs. Sue Johnston in 1985, who served as its principal until 2016. The school started as a kindergarten, then after years became a school with a larger location to include all educational stages.
The current site extends over an area of 17,000 square meters. It has a history spanning more than 30 years and provides high-quality education with several prestigious accreditations, including Google accreditation as a reference school, being one of the few schools in the region with this accreditation. It is also accredited by Pearson Edexcel for offering a globally recognized British curriculum, and is accredited by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

The admission process at Al Salam Private School takes place according to a set of steps as follows:
Step One: Online Application, where parents wishing to enroll their children in school can start by submitting an application online. After completing the application, they will receive a reference number to help them complete the next steps in the admission process.
In addition to completing the application form, parents must submit all required documents in advance online for their application to be considered.
The application will not be completed until all required documents are received and fees are paid. Note that paying registration fees does not guarantee the student's acceptance at the school.
Parents can use the year equivalence guide to determine the appropriate school year for their children.
Assessment Stage: Once all relevant documents are received and assessed, including previous academic report, previous behavior/discipline reports, copy of student's passport and visa, copy of student's UAE National ID (both sides), students will be invited to take an admission assessment via phone and email.
Registration Step: The Admissions Department will send acceptance letters to successful applicants, and a formal meeting with the parent and child may be requested before completing the admission process.
School registration will be confirmed upon acceptance of the offer and payment of 10% registration fee. Parents are also required to submit the following documents as part of the registration process.
Required Documents:
- Transfer certificate or leaving certificate from previous school. (Original must be submitted no later than your child's first school day (attested according to UAE law)).
- Original Emirates ID.
- Copy of student's UAE residence visa.
- Four recent passport-sized photos of the student.
- Copies of any health and/or psychological assessments conducted with the student (when applicable).
- Copy of vaccination card.
- Signing a contract between the school and parents.
- Any other information relevant to your child should be included in the offer letter (such as completing the medical form, photo waiver, registration agreement, accident release form, and student information sheet).
Please note that according to KHDA's school fee framework, parents will be required to pay a 5% re-registration fee after spring break. This amount is deducted from the first semester fees in August.

Early Years Foundation Stage EYFS:

Foundation Stage (3 to 5 years):
The school at this stage believes in the importance of children learning through play, using real-life experiences to support their learning, because its team realizes that children learn better when their level of well-being is better.
Primary Stage "5 to 11 years":
Students from Year 1 to Year 6 receive their education according to the Cambridge curriculum, aligned with the National Curriculum for England in core subjects: English, Mathematics, and Science, in addition to Ministry of Education subjects: Social Studies and Moral Education. Alongside Arabic language, Islamic Education, and non-core subjects (Arts, Physical Education, Information Technology, Drama, Music, and French).
Secondary Stage 11 to 16 years:
The National Curriculum for England is used for English, Mathematics, and Science, and is moving towards transferring other core subjects as well, which are currently taught using Cambridge curriculum objectives. The Ministry curriculum is used to teach Moral and Social Studies subjects, Islamic Studies, and Arabic language, as stipulated by law in the United Arab Emirates. Other subjects offered at this grade level include Arabic (A) and (B), Islamic Education and Holy Quran, UAE Social Studies, Global Perspectives, Moral Education, Computing, Arts, and Physical Education.
