About the school
Art Village Nursery, established in 2015 in Dubai, offers a distinguished educational environment for children from 6 months to 6 years old. The nursery adopts the Reggio Emilia approach with a touch of Nordic Curriculum to enhance creativity and exploration through play, arts, and nature, reflecting the quality of education and excellence in its programs. It focuses on providing a safe and stimulating environment for children's social and cognitive growth.
Our educational vision is to enable every child to show their full potential according to their special needs. We achieve this vision through continuous listening to the child, utilizing their ideas and opinions to encourage them to develop and learn. Children control their daily program at the nursery, but at the same time, as educators, it is our responsibility to support them in building the basic structure. We motivate children by sparking their interest in creative activities, natural sciences, mathematics, singing and music, dance and movement, theater and drama, in addition to arts and design. These areas are integrated into our daily educational activities through a daily schedule that includes these activities for all children, and in this regard, our working method is unique.
Our vision is to have distinguished and happy children, parents, and staff. We achieve this vision by building close relationships with each child and each staff member. Parents, children, and staff participate in planning our activities through continuous communication with parents and conducting periodic interviews with children.
Our institution is based on a humanistic approach based on respecting and trusting the child's abilities and desire to learn. We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, founded by Italian kindergarten expert Loris Malaguzzi. The basic idea is that children love discovery. Loris Malaguzzi and the Reggio Emilia approach believe that children must be active in their learning process, with adults staying close to provide help when needed.
Democracy forms the foundation of our nursery, as it enhances the growth and learning of all children, and develops their love of lifelong learning. One of the nursery's most important tasks is instilling respect for human rights and basic democratic values. We believe in developing children's ability to take responsibility and developing their social awareness, which establishes values of solidarity and tolerance from a young age. The nursery is a social and cultural meeting place that prepares children for life in an increasingly globalized society. Children's awareness of their cultural heritage and participation in others' cultures contributes to enhancing their ability to understand and empathize with others' circumstances and values.
