Dubai English Speaking School (DESS) was founded by the British Embassy in the Emirate of Dubai in 1963, where a small number of students were educated in a compact residential city, and over time it has become one of the most prominent international schools in the Emirates. The school is accredited by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and has achieved an Outstanding rating. It is also accredited by the Ministry of Education, the British Schools Overseas (BSO) voluntary inspection organization under the UK Department for Education, the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) organization, and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), an organization representing over 450 British schools. DESS adopts all study programs of the English National Curriculum.
