GEMS Modern Academy was established on October 18, 1986, and has since solidified its position as one of the leading educational institutions offering a pioneering educational vision that is hard to compete with. The academy is distinguished by its authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the Diploma Programme since 2014 and the Primary Years Programme since 2021. It also received candidate status for the Middle Years Programme in August 2021. The globally recognized and affiliated accrediting bodies are the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the International Baccalaureate Organization, and the Council of International Schools.

Admission Procedures at GEMS Modern Academy
- Fill out the online inquiry form to begin the admission process
- Upload all required documents after completing the form
- Receive a reference number (SR) after successfully completing online registration
- Receive an interview or admission test appointment via email
- Admission is granted based on the results of the interview or admission test
Age Requirements for Admission
- Pre-KG: 3 years by March 31
- KG1: 4 years by March 31
- KG2: 5 years by March 31
- Grade 1: 6 years by March 31
Required Documents for Registration
- Copy of child's passport, visa, and UAE ID card
- Copy of parents' passports, visas, and UAE ID cards
- Copy of child's birth certificate (in English or Arabic)
- Two recent passport-size photos of the child
- School reports for the last two years with any documents related to learning support needs
- School health form (downloadable from the website)
- For foreign students: Present original ID cards of child and parents upon registration
- Transfer certificate or school leaving certificate (required at registration)
Transfer Certificate Attestation Requirements
- Students coming from other emirates: Transfer certificate attested by the Ministry of Education in that emirate
- Students coming from GCC countries: Transfer certificate attested by the Ministry of Education
- Students coming from India:
- Transfer certificate attested by the education officer in the district/county/region
- Seal and signature of the education officer attested by the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- No transfer certificate required for students coming from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and European countries
Payment is available in cash, by check, or by credit card. Payment can be made in person at the school accounts office or through the parent portal. Direct bank transfer to the school account is also available (upon request).
GEMS Modern Academy offers educational programs - Indian curriculum:
- Primary Years Programme (PYP): Applied from kindergarten to Grade 5
- Middle Years Programme (MYP): Applied in middle school as part of the accredited international curriculum
Diploma Programme (DP): Offered in the final years of education (upper years)
