Italian Language Programme (Language A and Language B):

The Italian Department offers two language programmes, categorized as "Language A" and "Language B," throughout the study period from KG1 up to the Diploma level (from KG1 up to Grade 12).

  • Language A: The "Language A" programme is offered from KG1 up to the Diploma level for all students whose mother tongue is Italian. In accordance with the requirements of the Italian Ministry of Education, this programme utilizes interactive texts currently used in Italian schools, supported by materials specifically designed to meet the needs of bilingual students.
  • Flexibility for Non-Native Speakers in Language A: Non-native Italian speakers who have achieved an excellent level in Italian during their study of Italian as a "Language B" are permitted to participate in the Language "A" Diploma programme (Mother Tongue).
  • Language B Classification for Upper Grades: The study of "Language B" is available to all students from Grade 1 onwards. In the Diploma years (Grades 11 and 12), the Language "B" study is divided into Beginner Language Courses, which are intended for students with little or no prior experience in learning the chosen language.

Primary Years Programme:

The curriculum is primarily student-centered and is designed for children aged 3 to 12 years.
