Admission Policy
Non-Selective Admission Policy
The SABIS Educational System is based on academic excellence without being highly selective. The criterion for admission to any grade level is academic achievement rather than age, taking into account that age works as a limiting factor. There can be up to two years difference between students in the same grade. Generally, any student willing to learn is accepted.
Overview of Grade Distribution
There are no academic requirements for admission to Pre-KG through KG2 (ages 3 to 5 years). Interviews are conducted for potential students at this stage, and they must be toilet-trained and able to speak and follow simple instructions.
For all other potential students, diagnostic tests are conducted in core subjects. These tests help determine whether the student has reached the minimum expected level for each subject. After that, the school makes final placement decisions, with the possibility of using different strategies to help the student reach the required level, such as attending summer school, additional lessons, or intensive classes in a specific subject. The school pays great attention to special academic student support.
Appointments for diagnostic tests can be scheduled by contacting the admissions office via the school's phone numbers or email.
Admission Procedures

Early Childhood Education (Pre-KG to KG2)
The Early Childhood program at SIS - Al Bateen (from Pre-KG to KG2) provides an excellent introduction to learning and social interaction within a warm and friendly international environment. This section is located in an independent area within the campus, giving children ample space to learn, play, and discover the world around them. Each group of students has dedicated teachers and assistants.
During these years, children are prepared for their upcoming school years by introducing fundamental concepts upon which their future knowledge is built. Reading, phonics, language, mathematics, science, and Arabic form the foundation of the early childhood curriculum. Children also enjoy art, music, and sports activities, in addition to "circle time" each morning.
Lower Elementary Stage (Grades 1-5)
At this stage, the foundation for future learning is established within the framework of the SABIS Educational System. Teachers attend to each student's needs and ensure a supportive and welcoming environment.
In these early years, children become more aware of themselves and the world around them. We believe that developing a positive attitude toward learning during this period paves the way for achieving academic excellence later.
The lower elementary program combines academic progress with the development of social, physical, and emotional maturity. Art, music, and physical education classes contribute to fostering a healthy, vibrant, and enthusiastic approach to future learning.

Academic objectives include providing comprehensive education based on mastery of English, Arabic, and mathematics, training students in logical thinking and critical skills, while promoting enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
The curriculum also includes weekly classes in arts, music, computer science, and physical education for fifth-grade students and above, providing them with comprehensive education that helps them develop as well-rounded individuals. Students' talents are showcased throughout the year through art exhibitions, musical concerts, and sporting events.
