Salalah Private School provides a comprehensive educational program for students aged 3 to 18 years, focusing on the holistic development of each child. In the early years of education, we follow an internationally accepted, developmentally oriented, and concept-based curriculum. However, for other levels, the curriculum at Salalah Private School largely depends on globally recognized educational programs offered by Cambridge International Examinations based in Britain. Additionally, some selected subjects follow the national curriculum of the Sultanate of Oman.
Early Years - Foundation Stage (3 to 5 years)
The early years curriculum is based on seven important and interconnected areas of learning and development. Each of these is essential to ignite children's curiosity and enthusiasm, build their capacity to learn, strengthen relationships, and develop positive personality.
Primary School Years (5 to 11 years)
The Cambridge framework provides curricula for core subjects including English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics, Science, and Information and Communication Technology. Other subjects are based on the Sultanate of Oman's national curriculum, including Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Life Skills Education.
Both the Omani national curricula and Cambridge programs provide content data, knowledge, skills, understanding, and target levels for all subjects taught at the Islamic Studies College.
Secondary School Years (11 to 14 years)
Secondary Checkpoint 1 years are characterized by an increasingly focused approach with specialized teachers for all subjects. This ensures that students not only develop their knowledge and skills but are also prepared for the rigor of examination courses that begin with Cambridge IGCSE from Year 9 onwards.
Upper Secondary School Years (13 to 14)
Cambridge IGCSE The IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) program is usually a two-year program leading to specific examinations accredited by the University of Cambridge for International Education Assessment. It is a unique program accredited by the UK government and used by thousands of schools worldwide.
Upper Secondary School Years (14 to 16)
A curriculum is offered to our students over Years 9 and 10 that includes subjects following IGCSE curricula such as English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, three or four other subjects can be chosen from a wide range of topics such as foreign languages (French), Geography, History, Business Studies, Computer Science, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and if possible, independent study of English as a first language.
