International School for Medical Science and Engineering (Debakey) was established in 2008 in collaboration with Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, starting with only 38 students. It quickly grew due to its focus on academic excellence and pathways to medical universities, offering services to students from grades 5 through 12. The school received its American and Qatari accreditation in 2009 and held its first graduation ceremony in 2011, publishing its first yearbook. Until 2024, it was known as Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions before obtaining its new name ISME.
The International School for Medical Science and Engineering (ISME) aims to be a leading multicultural institution that challenges each student to develop essential skills and enhance their inspiring and distinguished character, while empowering teachers and students to lead and transform the global landscape and local environment towards greater prosperity and goodness.
We provide academic excellence and character development, preparing students to compete, lead, and succeed in a global society. This is achieved through a rigorous American curriculum focused on medical sciences, technology, engineering, and business administration, while maintaining and nurturing local customs and culture.
Provide a comprehensive educational program and pre-university academic challenge. Motivate and empower students to pursue higher education in science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, and technology. Prepare students for study at leading universities in the United States, England, Qatar, and Canada.
