The German International School was established in 1975 and follows the German education system. The German curriculum is taught from kindergarten to tenth grade, and offers the International Baccalaureate program in both English and German for grades eleven and twelve. All classes are conducted in German except for languages (Arabic, English, and French).
The school's mission consists of the following eight guiding principles: * A recognized German school abroad that maintains high quality standards from kindergarten through the International Baccalaureate * A school for families with German language backgrounds and those planning a future in German-speaking culture * Working together in a democratic and confident atmosphere that gives everyone a sense of belonging and solidarity within the school, based on a liberal European understanding * Respect and tolerance form a solid foundation for productive cooperation between teachers and students * The school benefits from the cultural diversity among students and their parents * We encourage and challenge students to work to their highest capabilities. This is an open and continuously changing process * We support the individual development of each child and young adult * The school's main focus is on language education
