About the school

Ras Al Khaimah American Academy was established in 2008 based on the vision of Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, with the aim of providing high-quality education for girls in Ras Al Khaimah, combining modern education with authentic Emirati values. Over the years, the academy expanded to include students, offering education from kindergarten through Grade 12.

The academy's strength lies in its high educational standards that align with an ambitious environment. It has been accredited by Cognia, one of the oldest American accreditation boards for international schools, with a score of 362 on the Index of Education Quality. It also received a high ranking in digital learning, where the Ministry of Education classified it as an "advanced" school.

Documents and requirements needed for registration at Ras Al Khaimah American Academy:

  • Complete and submit a signed admission application form
  • Provide (6) passport-sized photos of the student
  • Certificate from previous school, transfer certificate if the student is coming from another school
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Vaccination record (required vaccinations)
  • Copy of student's passport with visa (with original copies shown upon registration)
  • Copy of father's/guardian's passport
  • Letter of recommendation from previous school
  • Emirates ID for residents/citizens in the UAE
  • For Emirati citizens, a copy of the family book

Oversubscription Criteria:

  • If student enrollment rates are high, priority is given to siblings of children already enrolled in the school when admitting new applicants.
  • This includes cases where it is reasonably expected that a sibling will be at the school at the time of their brother's or sister's admission, such as a student in Grade 11 who is expected to move to Grade 12.
  • This policy applies to siblings who live permanently with the student already enrolled in the school.

Selection Process:

  • All newly enrolled students must pass an admission test to assess their English language proficiency level.
  • This criterion has been adopted because English is the language of instruction at the school, with the exception of Arabic and Islamic studies subjects.

Upon registration at Ras Al Khaimah American Academy, an admission fee of 3,000 dirhams per child is required (non-refundable or transferable). After acceptance, tuition fees are paid according to the specified installment plan (first payment, subsequent payment(s), book fees if applicable).

  • It offers education from kindergarten KG 1 and KG 2, then elementary level (Grade 1–4), middle level (Grade 5–8), through secondary level (Grade 9–12)
  • Various subjects are taught such as English, Mathematics, Science; as well as Arabic Language, Islamic Education, Social Studies
  • In middle and secondary levels, subjects are taught by specialized teachers and not just a classroom teacher
  • The academy provides a digital educational infrastructure, including the use of platforms such as Microsoft Teams, within digital safety policies

At Ras Al Khaimah American Academy, there is a system that separates girls and boys after a certain stage.

  • Classes from KG 1 through Grade 3 or 4 are mixed with boys and girls together
  • From Grade 4 and above, girls and boys are taught in separate sections
