St Joseph's School adopts a system based on the principles of empowerment, developing innovative skills, and enhancing 21st-century skills in every child. The curriculum aligns with the requirements of the Indian CBSE Board and keeps pace with the development of skills appropriate for the international context. Teaching and learning strategies are based on cognitive and psychomotor-affective domains.
The adopted strategies rely on objective-based learning activities, where learning objectives help students know what they intend to do based on what they have acquired, and focus on identifying individual pathways and priorities for each learner. Efforts are made to provide authentic learning experiences that suit individual learning styles and different achievement levels.
Learning is assessed through a combination of formative and summative assessments across primary, middle, and secondary levels. Specific strategies and techniques are used to measure student progress in knowledge, their ability to apply this knowledge in real-life situations, think critically about acquired information, and effectively communicate results in a way that adds value to the acquired knowledge.
St Joseph's School is one of the pilot schools selected to implement the Student Competency Framework (SCF) and is pleased to integrate this framework presented by ADEK within the curriculum. Continuous and comprehensive assessment of learning is based on the Student Competency Framework, which equips students with the skills, behaviors, and competencies required in the 21st-century world. The school believes that competency is a combination of knowledge, skills, and attitudes reflected in an individual's performance in a task. Classrooms are training arenas where opportunities are provided to practice problem-solving and critical thinking skills to enhance competencies.
