Shaikha Hessa Girl's School - American Curriculum is a non-profit private national school that offers bilingual education in Arabic and English from pre-school through 12th grade for girls only, in addition to teaching French as a foreign language from 4th to 8th grade. It was established in 2001 as the first private girls' school in Bahrain. The school offers an American curriculum. Additionally, the school is accredited by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). It is a full member (2011) of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and a candidate (2012) for full joint accreditation with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). Furthermore, the school has obtained licensing from Edexcel (2011) for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
