The Japanese School in Doha is an educational institution established in 1979 to serve the Japanese community in Qatar. It ceased operations in 2001 due to low student enrollment, then reopened in May 2009 through an initiative by His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God protect him, in response to the increasing number of Japanese citizens working in Qatar. The school is accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and is committed to providing the highest educational standards according to the Japanese curriculum in Japanese language.
