Teachers follow a comprehensive and sequential phonics reading program to help students analyze and decode words. They will also begin writing expository and narrative texts. Students learn mathematics in three stages: doing activities, then visualization, then symbolic/abstract representation. The curriculum covers number sense, algebra, measurement and data, as well as geometry.
