Modern Global International Schools (MGIS) offers an international educational program integrating the American Common Core Standards within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework. Our student-centeredapproach focuses on academic excellence, inquiry-based learning, creativity, communication, and the development of internationally minded students.

MGIS Qortoba is an authorized IB World School for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). MGIS Digital City is an IB PYP candidate school.

MGIS is currently pursuing accreditation with Cognia, a globally recognized organization focused on school quality and continuous improvement.

The accreditation process reflects MGIS’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards, continuous school improvement, effective teaching and learning, and providing a high-quality educational experience for our students.

Updates regarding the accreditation process will be communicated to our school community as they become available.

MGIS currently operates two campuses in Riyadh: Qortoba and Digital City. A third MGIS campus is currently under construction in Al Izdihar, which will offer a comprehensive K–12 educational program upon completion.

English is the primary language of instruction for the international curriculum; Arabic, Islamic Studies, and KSA History are taught in Arabic, and we offer weekly French Language classes.

Parents are required to provide the following documents to complete the registration process:

• Iqama & Passport Copies: Copies of the student’s and parents’ Iqama and passports (for non-Saudi families).
• Student Photo: One recent passport-size photograph.
• Family ID Card: Copy of the Family ID Card (for Saudi families).
• Vaccination Card: Copy of the student’s vaccination record.
• Birth Certificate: Copy of the student’s birth certificate.
• Academic Report Card: Original academic report cards for students who previously studied in Saudi Arabia.
• Attested Report Card / Apostille: Required for students transferring from a school outside Saudi Arabia.
• Financial Clearance: Required for students transferring from another school within Saudi Arabia.

A placement test and an interview are required for all grade levels. A non-refundable assessment fee of SAR 100 applies.

The placement test focuses on English Language Arts (ELA) and assesses key skills such as reading, grammar, and essay writing, according to the student’s grade level.

The assessment is provided by our curriculum publisher and is aligned with the academic expectations of each grade level. It helps the school evaluate the student’s academic readiness and identify any learning needs before admission.

Yes. MGIS offers sibling discounts in accordance with the school’s current tuition and discount policy.

• Families with two siblings: The sibling in the lower grade receives an additional 5% discount.
• Families with three or more siblings: The sibling in the lowest grade receives a 10% discount, while the other siblings each receive a 5% discount.

The regular MGIS school day follows the schedule below:

• 7:15 AM: School gates open for student drop-off.
• 7:40 AM: Lessons begin.
• 1:35 PM: School gates open for student pick-up.
• 1:40 PM: Lessons end.

Parents are kindly requested to ensure that students arrive on time and follow the school’s designated drop-off and pick-up procedures.

Yes. MGIS offers a variety of extracurricular and after-school activities designed to support students’ physical, social, creative, and academic development.

Activities include Swimming, Drama, STEM, Homework & Academic Support, Chess, Taekwondo, Ballet, Gymnastics, Choir, and Football.

Activities may vary by campus, term, age group, and availability. Details of available activities, schedules, and registration are communicated to parents during the academic year.

Yes. MGIS provides students with age-appropriate learning devices as part of the school’s educational technology program:

• Grades 1–3: iPad
• Grades 4–9: Chromebook

The devices are provided to support teaching and learning and remain the property of MGIS. Students and parents are required to follow the MGIS Device Policy regarding the proper use, care, and return of all devices and accessories.

MGIS uses Educore as a central platform for important school communication and information. Additional official communication channels (Email, SMS) may also be used when required.

Yes. MGIS offers an optional school transportation service at an additional cost, separate from the tuition fees. Transportation is available for eligible locations and is subject to route availability and capacity.

Round-Trip Transportation

• Monthly: SAR 1,000
• Annually: SAR 8,500

MGIS uses the Springfield curriculum and learning resources for KG1 and KG2. From KG3 to Grade 9, MGIS uses Savvas Learning Company resources. Both Savvas and Springfield are global providers of high-quality educational programs and digital learning solutions. Their standards-aligned resources provide engaging learning experiences that develop students’ knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving, and essential academic skills.
