Over time, the school flourished and gained global recognition. It is accredited by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and is licensed as an International Baccalaureate (IBO) exam center.

The school offers students the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence needed to see the world through the lens of others and different cultures. It encourages students to critically understand the biases and limitations imposed by their nationality and culture, to learn how to communicate with people from other backgrounds. Teaching is based on values of tolerance, acceptance, and respect, fostering international understanding and recognition of differences.
As BISJ is a British community school licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education, priority for admission is given to British passport holders. However, the school also welcomes applications from non-British families. Classroom placement is based on the deadline of August 31, and specific year group assignments are made only with the approval of the head of the school. Parents are encouraged to read and understand the school's mission, philosophy, and objectives before applying, and support and accept the school's policies.
