Beginning Your Child's Educational Journey
At GEMS Our Own English High School - Sharjah, Boys Branch, we recognize that each student is unique, and we strive to discover and support their individual abilities to become the best they can be. We adopt an open admission policy and welcome students wishing to join various grade levels, making the admission process as simple and smooth as possible.
Student Registration
- Online registration for the new academic year begins mid to late September.
- To register, access the "Enrol Online" option at the top right of the website's homepage, carefully select the academic year and grade level, and fill in all mandatory fields.
- After submitting the application, an SR number will be sent to the registered email, and you can complete the profile and upload required documents such as passport, ID card, birth certificate, and transcript.
General Admission Policies
- Students are admitted based on academic performance at the previous school.
- In Grades KG2 – 11, seats are only available in case of withdrawals.
- Admission to Grade 11 depends on performance in Grades 9 and 10, previous test results, and seat availability.
- Students coming from India must contact the school upon arrival in the UAE, and must have a residence visa, ID card, certified transfer certificate, and transcript.
- All admission procedures are applied according to the Ministry of Education, and the principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any student whose behavior or academic performance is unsatisfactory.
Age Guidelines for Admission
- KG1: 4 years old by March 31 of the admission year
- KG2: 5 years old by March 31 of the admission year
- Grade 1: 6 years old by March 31 of the admission year
Required Documents Upon Admission
- Two copies of student's passport with valid residence visa
- Original UAE ID card for student and father
- Two recent photos of the student (6x4 cm)
- Copy of birth certificate in English with original for verification
- Final transcript certified by the Ministry of Education for students coming from the UAE, or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for students coming from outside the UAE
- Transfer certificate/leaving certificate from previous school certified according to the country and ministry guidelines
- Grades 2–8: Certified transfer certificate, and Grades 9–11: Certified transcript
Withdrawal from School
Withdrawal requests can be submitted electronically with at least one month's prior notice. Requests are processed after the student stops attending school and pays the required fees for official accreditation. Parents are advised to collect the student's medical record after receiving the transfer certificate or leaving certificate.
Payment Policies at Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Boys Branch)
Tuition fees are due before the start of the academic year and are paid in advance at the beginning of each month. Fee invoices are issued from the moment of admission to ensure payment processing is possible before the start of the month. In case of any change in your financial circumstances, it is essential to contact the school before the deadline to be guided on available options. Please note that all tuition fees comply with the fee structure approved by GEMS Education according to the SPEA School Fee Framework.
Tuition Fee Payment Details
- Annual fees are collected in 10 installments, with no fees charged for July and August. Fees can also be paid in advance.
- Payment Methods: Cash, same-day dated checks, or credit card. Post-dated checks are not accepted.
- Checks must be made payable to "Our Own English High School – BR-1" only.
- Students will not be allowed to enter school examinations if fees are not paid.
