Foundation Stage
Children learn independence, social communication, participation, and develop their fine motor skills to be able to complete tasks without adult intervention.
It uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) British curriculum, which consists of seven learning areas. The key learning areas include: Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development. The specific learning areas include: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.
Primary Stage
The primary curriculum includes: English Language, Mathematics, Science, Arabic Language, Islamic Education (optional), Moral Education, and Social Studies. The study programs also include Humanities, Physical Education, Expressive Arts and Design, Information Technology, and French Language. Children are offered a range of extracurricular activities at the end of the school day. The primary years include two key stages: Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Key Stage 1
Key Stage 1 consists of the first two years of lower primary: Year 1 and Year 2. Year 1 is a transitional year where children, after graduating from the Foundation Stage, need to transition from continuous provision to a gradual increase in formal learning. In Year 1, students are taught to read and write independently. Their mathematical abilities are significantly enhanced as they begin to explore numbers up to 100 and start skip counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s. By the end of Year 2, children should know the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. They should be able to read, write, and spell phonetically plausible words.
Key Stage 2
Throughout the two main academic years (Grade 3 to Grade 6), children learn to write proficiently, acquire mathematical skills, and scientific knowledge that they will begin to apply in real-life situations. The Primary Curriculum is a building and progressive skills-based curriculum that allows children to build on what they know and learn new skills along the way. New languages such as French, Arabic, and English are explored, and topics related to history and geography are studied. By Grade 6, children will have a solid foundation and a strong skill set that enables them to embark on the secondary school experience with ease.
