The American International School - Riyadh (AIS-R) is an independent, non-profit, co-educational school offering an American curriculum with an international perspective for students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1963, AIS-R celebrates over half a century of educational excellence. AIS-R offers a diverse educational program following the American curriculum enhanced with an international perspective. The curriculum is based on U.S. State Department (AERO) standards, Common Core State Standards, and selected national standards. The school also offers the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12.
AIS-R offers a wide range of activities through its After School Activities (ASA) program, including sports, computing, music, fine and performing arts, and various clubs for leadership development and community service.
AIS-R has adopted a comprehensive child protection policy based on international laws, CIS standards, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The policy outlines standards for treating all students in the school community, whether on campus or learning from home. A child protection education program has been developed focusing on child value, recognition, accessibility, and action in cases of abuse.
