About Sharjah Indian School for Girls

Sharjah Indian School for Girls is a higher secondary school owned and managed by the Indian Association in Sharjah. It was officially opened on September 5, 1979, by His Excellency the then Indian Ambassador, Mohammed H. Ansari, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, with 280 students and 13 teachers, representing a prominent landmark in the history of Indian-UAE friendship. Today, after 43 years, the school has 8,763 students from KG to Grade 12 and 450 teachers. The school is accredited and licensed by the Private Education Department in Sharjah under the UAE Ministry of Education, and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi, India. The school is located on a plot of land donated by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and features excellent purpose-built infrastructure.
